VAT relief for users with disabilities

If you have a disability including Dyslexia, you should be able to claim VAT relief. Relief is also available for complete systems, including hardware, provided it is supplied with any VAT free software as a package.

Eligibility for relief may be denied by your local VAT office. This can be challenged and we are able to provide assistance in this respect, having won several major disputes with Customs and Excise in the past, to the benefit of disabled people generally. However, we cannot guarantee success in this and we will expect customers to have made reasonable efforts in obtaining relief themselves.

VAT relief does not apply to organisations buying software of equipment for general use or on behalf of a user with a disability. It does not apply to Charities.

VAT relief is available only if the purchase is made by the disabled person or their parent or guardian. A VAT relief declaration must be completed and duly signed and mailed to our office at the time of purchase.
